How we protect your data

We follow security best practice at every layer of the platform.

Encryption in transit

All data between your browser and our platform is encrypted using TLS 1.3. No unencrypted HTTP access.

Encryption at rest

All stored data — course syllabi, student records, account information — is encrypted using AES-256.

Authentication

Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Google OAuth SSO supported. Two-factor authentication coming soon.

Access control

Row-level security at the database layer ensures users can only access their own data. Teams plan includes role-based permissions.

Data ownership

Your data is yours. Export any time. We retain data 30 days after cancellation before permanent deletion.

Where is my data stored?

Your data is stored in Supabase on Amazon Web Services infrastructure. We use the EU (Ireland) region by default.

Can I delete all my data?

Yes. You can export all your data from account settings. If you close your account, data is permanently deleted within 30 days. For immediate deletion: hello@teachingsbydesign.com.

Do you have a vulnerability disclosure policy?

Yes. Contact hello@teachingsbydesign.com. We respond within 48 hours and keep you updated as we investigate.

Is my student data private from admins?

Department admins can see student progress and completion data. Personal credentials are never visible to admins.
